Yet another pointlessly sexist baby selection…this time from M & S.
I phoned to complain – and tried to get friends to do the same via facebook.
Baby boy book blue selection contains careers “What will I be when I grow up?” and vehicles and farming…
The baby girl pink equivalent? Yumyumcakes and baby animals!!! Cos why would baby girls be interested in what they do when they grow up? Let’s get them cooking…driving is for boys. I advised the lovely complaints person to buy the baby buyers dept a copy of the Laura Bates book ‘ Everyday Sexism Project’. It seems like we are regressing back to 1956 on a gender level. Very angry and bored of the gendered baby bullshit.

Thanks for your comment, Lou. It’s all a bit rubbish, isn’t it? My 4 year-old (girl) only today asked for a toy fork-lift truck, having seen one working. They are interested in everything they see. Let’s help them see everything.
