Written By Women

As Hampshire Poet 2016, I am Writer in Residence for the Written By Women strand at the Basingstoke Literary Festival this year.

On this page I’ll be collating all my work from my attendance over four days around the weekend, from Thursday 23rd to Sunday 26th June.

My first introductory blog went live a week before it started, and gives links to a lot of the events I hope to attend, including the workshop I’m running myself.

The I Am Jane arts project has been running sessions at two schools over the few weeks preceding the Festival. Read my update from 20 June here.

See my final report of the I Am Jane gala film screening on 23 June here.

Della Galton’s workshop How To Write And Sell Short Stories was very popular, on 24 June. Read my report here.

The first read-through performance of Sally Lewis’ How Is Uncle John (formerly Being Hope), directed by Ben Mills, also happened on 24 June. My report is here.

A report on my poetry workshop on Saturday 25 June is here.

A report on the special Loose Muse event on Saturday 25 June for the Festival is here.

The Shed of Stories pop-up library event on Sunday 26 June was brilliant – my report here.
